Thinking back to your early years, do you remember what you loved to do as a child (as in over and over)? I was always drawn to pictures, specifically our thick family photo albums that lived on the bottom shelf of the living room bookcase. Each photo was dated and pasted onto black cardstock and secured under a film of clear plastic. For years on end, at least once a week, I would open those albums, turning the pages to look at the old photos of my mom, dad, grandparents, and relatives. I loved hearing the stories that went along with each photo because our family history was so special to my heart. Some of my favorite photos were the images of my brothers and me together as babies.
I asked for my mom’s Kodak camera when I was just little, and I practiced with it taking photos of nature, our pets, or relatives. As a teenager, I graduated to wind-up disposable cameras until I could save to buy my own “nice camera.” If you remember Eckerd Drugstore, I spent a great deal of my weekly allowance there developing rolls of film!
Because I've always had a love for children and for learning, I attended college in Pennsylvania to become an elementary teacher. The fifteen years I spent teaching 2nd grade and Kindergarten were incredibly rewarding, and they allowed me to meet (and love) the most wonderful families in the world! The strong connection I made with students and their parents was so special, and my relationships with them are still something I treasure.
While I am no longer in the classroom, I continue to enjoy the benefit of working with children and their families through photography. My training and experience allow me to draw the best out of my client’s kiddos, even when they’re fidgety, distracted, or energetic! I will connect with your littles to gain their trust and friendship before taking the first picture. If you and your kiddos are having fun and being your authentic selves during our session, I promise we will get images you’ll love!

Jessica did an impressive job with my newborn! She knew exactly how to handle my baby with gentleness and care. She was also aware when my baby needed a break and generously accommodated us. Jessica was patient, kind, and definitely someone I want to work with again in the future.

We are so thankful for Jess. Photographing a family of five with young kids can’t be easy, but she made it an absolute dream! She is so good at what she does. I can’t wait to get our prints!

KELSEY
This was the easiest photoshoot ever! Jessica made it seamless. The dresses and boys tops are part of the motherhood wardrobe inventory and it took so much of the pressure off of worrying about what we were going to wear. The owner is the sweetest and added bonus, she's great with kids!
