  • Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen in downtown Asheville is a great place for a delicious lunch or brunch made from scratch using local and responsibly-sourced ingredients.
  • Looking for southern fried chicken?  Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack is extremely popular with locals for its fried and grilled chicken in every form imaginable.  Their sandwiches, sides, desserts, and beverages are delicious, too!

  • The Gorge Zipline (Saluda, NC) offers multiple ziplines, rappelling, and sky bridges.
  • You will find a relatively easy hiking and biking experience at the Graveyard Fields (Blue Ridge Parkway). There are three waterfalls to enjoy here!  You will likely see deer, black bears, and a host of different bird species depending upon the time of year you visit.
  • During Summer, you won't want to miss going to beautiful Pisgah National Forest to slide down the 60 foot natural water slide at Sliding Rock and playing in the swimming hole.

George Vanderbilt's 250-room mountain castle is America's largest privately-owned home and Asheville’s most celebrated landmark.  Tour the mansion that took six years to build and explore the 8,000 acres of picturesque grounds by foot, bike, carriage, or on horseback!  You can delve deeper into Biltmore Estate's history with a behind-the-scenes tour.  The Estate is also where you’ll find the nation’s most visited winery.  If you're visiting our area around Thanksgiving or Christmas, taking a candlelight tour of the mansion in all its holiday splendor will be a treasured memory!
